The WikiPad 7 inch gaming tablet has passed through the FCC, meaning release time should be just around the corner. Â Aiming to blend the controls of a gaming console with the portability of a tablet, the WikiPad looks to be a great device. Â The control dock is removable, so the tablet can still be used for other purposes without the pad getting in the way.
Powered by the NVidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor, packing 16GB of on board storage which is expandable by micro-SD card, and a 7 inch IPS display. Â While not as powerful as the NVidia Shield, it should offer a lower priced but decent competitor, entering the market at around $249, $100 cheaper than the NVidia Shield.
The WikiPad manufacturers also have 10 inch version in the works, but no word on when that will come to market.
I like the sound of more gaming oriented tablets, and with the choice between the control pad style dock of the WikiPad or the sleek styling of the NVidia Shield, I’m not sure which to go for!
