Sometimes phone manufacturers have some cute banter between them, feigning some kind of hostility, even coming up with some real zingers. This happens a lot between the Android manufacturers, particularly HTC and Samsung who’s HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 are generally mentioned in the same sentence for best phone of 2013 so far.
And then there’s Nokia, who’s antics have interrupted Samsung’s advertising campaigns at several turns already, including parking in front of a Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom billboard with a truck with a Nokia 1020 ad on it, as well as “welcoming” Samsung back to Windows at Samsung’s AITV event. This time, Nokia has latched onto the Android 4.4 KitKat announcement and tweeted this:
Have a break… #Kitkat #Nokia pic.twitter.com/6OuEQIVLLj
— Nokia Deutschland (@NokiaHomebase) September 4, 2013
I can’t tell exactly where Nokia is going with that besides implying the Samsung Galaxy S4 might be breakable, but it’s obviously used the KitKat theme to somewhat great effect. It does appear to be a bit of a cheap shot though, from a manufacturer who’s recent purchase by Microsoft is more than an indication that it isn’t doing too well. Can’t say they didn’t try though.
