Yesterday, we were graced with press renders of what is most likely LG’s take on a curved-body smartphone, the LG G Flex. This comes less than a week after Samsung officially announced its own curved screen smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Round. Both these smartphones use the flexible LCD technology that both LG and Samsung have been showcasing for the last year or so, and while it’s not quite the bendy, flexing phones we had envisioned in our sci-fi fantasy world, they are definitely an interesting concept that will hopefully lead to even better concepts in the future.
What is probably most interesting about the two phones is that they are curved in different ways; the Round is curved around its vertical axis, whereas the G Flex is curved around its horizontal axis. It’s hard to say if one design is more advantageous or more functional than the other, but for now, all we can do is speculate. If anything, the G Flex looks more like it was designed from the ground up as a curved smartphone, whereas the Round looks like a melted Note 3, but that’s just my opinion.
So we’ll pose this question to you, our readers: which of these curved smartphones do you prefer, the LG G Flex or the Samsung Galaxy Round? Or maybe it’s neither; tell us what your preference is.
