We heard just over a week ago from HTC that they had submitted the Android 4.4 KitKat code for the HTC One Google Play Edition to Google, meaning that an OTA release would be in the very near future. Perhaps goaded by the fact even the Moto X has been updated to Android 4.4, HTCdev have pre-emptively released the kernel source and framework files for the update on their site.
Downloading the kernel source and framework files will set you back 371.7MB and 99.8MB respectively and although these files will be of most interest to ROM developers and the like, the release of the files surely implies that the update files have been accepted by Google and the OTA roll-out of Android 4.4 should be imminent.
