7-inch Identity Tablet Launches in Korea

It seems that KT is trying to beat Samsung to the punch with their own 7″ Identity tablet. I’m sure everyone can still agree that the Samsung Galaxy Tab will blow this thing out of the water, but you can’t knock KT for trying right? The Identity tablet is limited to KT wireless, while the Galaxy Tab will reach out to more consumers around the globe. As you can see in the image above, this tablet looks to be running Android 2.2, but since the TV icon has replaced the standard phone icon. We’re still unsure about which firmware version this tablet is running.

Features of the KT Identity tablet include:

  • Android OS
  • 1GHz processor
  • 8GB internal storage
  • HDMI port
  • MicroSD slot
  • 3MP camera
  • Built-in DMB TV tuner
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth

This device isn’t too far off from the Galaxy Tab specs and could still be a nice little tablet to have. The Galaxy Tab is to be unveiled in a couple of days and we’re sure Samsung will remind us that it’s worth the wait. The KT Identity tablet is currently available for 300,000 won ($251) without contract or just 27,000 won ($23) on a monthly contract.
