HTC Pushing OTA Software Update to the Wildfire

The HTC Wildfire has a new software update available and while it’s not the Android 2.2 you all were hoping for, it does bring some fixes and improvements. The new software version is 1.25.405.1 and below are the short list of enhancements and features.

  • Enhances support for Facebook status display when dialing
  • Increases support for Google Services like Google Talk, Android Market and others
  • Improves combining contacts from Outlook and other sources

HTC made the following announcement:

“You can now download the latest software update for new features and improved performance. It won’t delete any of your content and we’d recommend using a Wi-Fi connection as this is a large update. If not, standard data connection charges may apply. Any questions? Contact us via www.htc.com. After installing the update, you can confirm a successful update by confirming the Software number (From the Home Screen go to MENU> Settings> About Phone> Software Information> Software number). The new Software number will be 1.25.405.1

Enjoy this software update as we anxiously await Android 2.2’s arrival.
