The NOOKcolor has been a pretty hot item recently. I would say it has more to with its ability to run and support Android more then its abilities as an e-reader. No matter what the reason behind your purchase of this handy little device, it is nice to see a company continuing to release updates and make their product better. The recent update fixes many bugs that needed to be addressed. Sorry to say it’s not a Froyo update, but that could be on the horizon at some point. I would much rather see a company get a grasp on what they have before they dive into something new that they aren’t sure of.
Take a look at the recent changes this latest update brings:
- Improved performance of Wi-Fi connectivity, Home and Shop.
- Ability to pinch and zoom in browser.
- Enhanced reading experience for magazines and children’s books.
- Access helpful NOOKcolor related information and support tips on the new
default browser home page. - Reduce mistyped passwords with “show password†option during registration
and Wi-Fi set up. - Easily identify NOOK kids Read To Meâ„¢ books with a new text banner next to
the titles in Shop. - General bug fixes and performance improvements.
Good stuff in my opinion. I hope they keep up the good work and move forward to change the tablet industry. You can hit up the Barnes & Noble site to snag the update. Be wary though, this update will break root if you happen to be rooted.
