If you’re a Hulu fan, like me, you’ve grown tired of seeing the “Coming Soon” branding next to the Android Device compatibility on the streaming site. The status of the Android app for Hulu has been listed as an eventual but not quite ready instance for quite sometime now. However, the wait is finally over. Well as long as your device makes the cut.
With the first phase of the Android rollout, Hulu Plus is available on six phones, including the Nexus One, Nexus S, HTC Inspire 4G, Motorola Droid II, Motorola Droid X, and the Motorola Atrix. We expect to add to the number of Android smartphones and will be making additional device announcements throughout the year.
As we saw with Netflix, the Hulu Plus app is limited to a select few devices. Of course as with the Netflix app it’s likely that a few sleuthy developers will get this working on a few other devices despite the initial claims. If your device has made the list and you’re wanting to take Hulu Plus for a spin you can hit up the QRcode with your camera or a simple click to head to the Android market. It should be noted that this service will be free for one week and will then requite payments of $7.99 month to continue.
