Phoenix Suns Basketball team switch to Galaxy Tab 10.1’s for use on and off the Court

It is no surprise that tablets are reaching more and more places around the world. We have seen reports of airlines offer tablets during flights, tablets being handed out at NFL games and a whole plethora of other uses. Now, the Phoenix Suns NBA team and supporting company operation employees, will be sporting new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1‘s. In a deal agreement with Verizon and Samsung, the Suns will be using the new tabs for portable, digital and easily update-able playbooks for use on and off the court.

The press release says the team will “utilize the tablet throughout US Airways Center on game-nights for more effective activation related to Suns partner initiatives, as well as showing prospective Suns ticket holders an interactive view of seats from anywhere in the arena.”

“Our organization has always placed a priority on remaining at the forefront of digital innovation within the sports industry. Utilizing the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network to integrate the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 into our daily operations is yet another great digital milestone for the Suns.” adds Suns President Brad Casper.

Should be an interesting move for all three parties involved. No doubt the arena will be littered with Verizon and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 banners, ads and plastic beer cups.
