Oh those crafty manufacturers and their testing habits. It is almost enough to drive a person crazy isn’t it? A new
Samsung model has magically appeared on the GL Benchmark website, depicting a device with the model number of the SGH-I317. The site lists out the device as having a 1280 x 720 HD display, Android Jelly Bean 4.1.1 and a CPU frequency of 1600MHz (1.6 GHz). Sounds all well and good, but what is it?
One could easily deduce that this unnamed device is headed to either AT&T or Canada. But what device is it is still a bit of a mystery. Speculation points to it being the
Galaxy Note 2 for
AT&T. The processor, OS and display all match up and makes the most sense. Samsung did say the Note 2 would be available in the states sometime in the fall to winter time frames. It is still a bit odd for the model number to be so far down instead of up from the original Note though. The Note of course being the SGH-I717. We all fully expected it to be something in the higher digit range.
As always we will keep an eye on this device and all the other floating around out there in cyberworld. As soon as we can nail down what it is and where it is headed we will be sure to let you know.
P.S. The blacked out device above isn’t of the device. So don’t go start making up guesses based on that image.
