Nexus Day rolls on, and now it is time for the core apps to be updated. First and for most, Google Now gets a nice little update. Google’s voice recognition app gets some added features today, such as more cards and new voice actions. MORE CARDS! Oh how we love those cards. Let’s check out what is new:
For Android 4.1+ (Jelly Bean), Google Search is faster plus:
– Google Now works with Gmail (English only)
– Flights
– Restaurant reservations
– Hotel confirmations
– Events
– Packages
– New Now cards: nearby attractions & photo spots, movies opening in theaters, concerts & more
– New voice actions: launch apps, schedule meetings & check when your next appointment is
Google Now puts you in control: at any time, adjust or turn off individual Now cards within Settings.
They added Gmail to the mix, as well as news headlines. I have not tried the new Google Now yet, but I’ll get around to it after the Nexus news dies down. Get in the Play Store and update it, and let us know how it is.
