Android 2.0 (Eclair) System dump now with developers

An Android 2.0 (Eclair) system dump has been released on XDA for developers to get their hands on and hopefully get to work converting this bad boy for the HTC Dream / T-Mobile G1 and all the other devices out there.  People have ben trying to extract the Google Maps application and install it on Android 1.6 (Donut) without any luck.  My understanding is that the new applications have been written specifically for the Android 2.0 (Ecair) framework so trying to run them on anything less is pointless.

The system dump was provided my Maxisma via AnroidSPIN.  If you really eager to play with it, you can download it here but I don’t recommend it unless your an experienced developer.

Stay tuned for more updates and hopefully an Android 2.0 release for your device soon.
