I absolutely love live wallpapers. I can remember back when the Nexus 1 was going to be launched seeing live wallpapers and going “OOOOOOOO!” I loved the idea. I also knew that they couldn’t be very good on battery life. Even though I have 30 of these things downloaded, Multipicture is by far my favorite.
The app is free in the Android market and you will be able to pick it up and try it for your self at the bottom of this post. First things first. What does it do? It allows you to set a picture in your device as the wallpaper for each of your screens. 7 screens means 7 different photos you can display. One per screen. That right there makes this a lot of fun. There is more, you can select a single photo or you can select an album or picture folder. You can also set them to change in order, random or time and date. Now we’re cooking!
Let’s add some more settings in. How about rotation time? You can double click on your screen to manually change the image on the screen and you can set how long between the rotation. The settings range from every 5 seconds all the way to 1 week or never. Once you have that set up you now have up to 7 different photos displaying, say every hour.
You would think that there isn’t much else a person would need to do with this. I haven’t even shared the the best part. The application sports a wide variety of transition effects. Every single one of them seems to be very smooth. I took a quick little video for you to see some of the transitions. I have them set to random so they change and show you the different ones available. Under transitions you can select whichever transition you like best.
Feel free to pick this application up below and give us your thoughts.
