AT&T HTC One X Bootloader Gets Locked Up and Says NO ROOT FOR YOU

Well this certainly is not great news for those of you planning on purchasing the HTC One X on AT&T’s network in a few days. Seems that Paul O’brien and fellow cats at Modaco have hit a wall when trying to unlock US version of the HTC beast. The image above is just something you do not want to see when anticipating on getting a freshly baked stock ICS ROM on this new phone.

So Paul and the boys run into this “ERROR CODE: 160”, giving the reason “MID Not Allowed”. This delightful little setback has not occurred on any of the international versions of the One X. Only happening to the US version. So we do not get the quad-core version, and the device itself is being stubborn when we try to turn the key. Just not fair. I am sure Paul and the boys will be working hard on breaking into the One X, so we will keep you posted when they are successful.
