Capcom Play System 2 emulator, developed by jrioni, has recently been pulled from the market due to Capcom claiming copyright infringement. Although we aren’t quit sure what the copyright infringement is at this time, it is likely that the claim won’t just go away. Since emulators themselves don’t actually infringe on any copyright laws, the best guess on the web is the Capcom logo.
The developer wants everyone to know he will be countering this claim with Capcom, but doesn’t seem to hopeful of winning the fight. If you happened to already get your hands on this emulator, the developer is still going to be working on it and releasing updates via his webpage HERE. You can also still get your hands on this application at his site as well. If viewing this article from your phone, you can direct install the application from HERE. A small $5 donation throughPaypal will give you access to the app and requires you to sign in with your Paypal username to validate the purchase.
This whole situation is rather interesting to me. I hope the other wonderful emulators (PSX4Droid, SNesoid, GameBoid) don’t fall prey to similar claims by the manufacturers.
