The developer community for the
HTC Amaze has been less than stellar. There was one developer that pushed out a few things, but that has since stopped. Many people complained about it, but the device just wasn’t that big of a player in the market. The Sensation was pretty much the same thing so many people opted for that instead. We do however know that T-Mobile is supposed to be updating the Amaze and the Sensation officially at some point in time in the future. Hopefully sooner rather than later. If an update is close at hand, then there is generally a leak, and guess what, there is. Thanks to that awesome community at XDA, there is a leaked build of what some are saying is the final build of
ICS for the Amaze. The update brings in the Sense 3.6 UI, since HTC is insistent that Sense 4 won’t work on older devices.
There is still no official date from T-Mobile on when the update will start hitting devices, but if they do it before the Sensations, there will be hell to pay. The leaked update hasn’t been rooted just yet, at least from my reading and by the time I post it that might be different. So you have been warned. Hopefully this leak will incite a few new developers to take on the Amaze and build up a little bit of support.
