It is hard to imagine life without having your companion smartphone in your hands, or pocket. It is also hard to imagine life before the smartphone craze came about. We actually used LAN lines? Big huge folded maps? NO FRUIT NINJA?!?! We lived like cavemen before we all started getting these devices. You can look at that as human de-evolution, but yet technology evolution. I say that because you always hear the older generation comment on every younger person having their heads buried into their phones. Yes, we have taken teaspoons from the smartphone bath salt jar, and have become zombies to these awesome devices. But then you got to look at it as a means of staying connected and just making life easier. We will never see eye to eye with that older generation.
HTC posted a nice little article showing the evolution of the smartphone. Below you can find a very well done poster that shows how far we have come in smartphone technology. From cell phone’s introduction in the 70s, to Zack Morris’ huge (but awesome) cell phone he used, the cell phone needed more to it than just making phone calls. We needed a personal assistant for our crazy, eventful lives. That is exactly what has happened, and the poster below shows off the timeline in which we have survived through the madness.
As you can see towards the end, HTC decided to poke fun at Apple Maps, and how it threw Apple back in the evolution timeline with their atrocious attempt at getting you from point A to point B. You got to love that. Let us know what you guys think.
