Huawei Technologies Co., based in China, revealed the world’s slimmest smartphone yesterday. The Huawei Ascend P6 measures in at 6.18mm, or 0.24 in., making it a slimmer alternative to both Samsung and Apple’s current phones on the market.
The P6 is powered by Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, and a 1.5GHz quad-core processor. It also has a 5MP front-facing camera, along with Huawei’s IMAGESmart software for image-enhancement. Other specs include a 4.7-inch high definition in-cell display, 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and expandable MicroSD storage.
The device will also be bringing Huawei’s “Emotion UI.” The interface will include updated versions of Uni-Home, Huawei’s Me Widget, MagicTouch and SmartReading, along with new features, panoramic shoot and facial recognition.
The Ascend P6 will come in black, white and pink, and will shipping to China in June and to Western Europe in July.
