Ice Cream Sandwich update live for Asus eee pad Transformer

Dear (place appropriate carrier/manufactuere here)

I am writing you today to tell you that Asus has out done you yet again. They have brought an Ice Cream Sandwich update to their original Transformer tablet in less time than it has taken you to announce that an update ‘may’ hit our device. This puts both of their tables, the Transformer and Transformer Prime, not only on the latest Android OS, but also in a timely fashion that consumers expect. This is why Asus will be the king og the tablet market.

Thank you,

The consumer.

Yes, I really did just write a letter. That is how we feel though. Four months after Google announces the icy treat and opens the source, Asus hopes to it and gets not one but two of their hottest tablets updated. While most other manufacturers are still putting a 3 to 6 month time line on theirs. Sure, both tablets aren’t carrier version that required long-term contracts and data plans, but one would think that those tablets should and devices should be top priority for an update. Yet, here we all sit, waiting, watching and wondering if any of the proposed devices will even see an update.

For those of you out there that were smart enough to buy a Transformer, you have a wondrous treat awaiting you. Yes, Ice Cream Sandwich, if you didn’t catch that earlier. We are certain that you already know where to look in your Transformer to pick up the update. In addition to the ICS treat, you can also expect to find the following –

  • Create folders in the Home Screen
  • Quick launch of the camera from lock screen
  • Additional screen capture method
  • Additional browser functions
  • Special camera effects and photo editing
  • Swipe to close tasks or notifications
  • Font size modification
  • Other minor user interface changes

Have an awesome Friday and great weekend everybody.

P.S. The ICS update is a world-wide release at this point.

To those asking, TF101 ICS update is scheduled to be with you all today. Please be patient, we have a whole world of Tablets to update ;)
