LG Ally Gets Some OTA Love And Receives Maintenance Update

With all of the updates sent out by carriers yesterday, it looks like the LG Ally wanted in on the action as it received an OTA update for maintenance. The LG Ally is a decent mid-range device with a slide out full-QWERTY keyboard and 3.2″ display. The update pushed out by Verizon included the following fixes and enhancements:

  • Enjoy preloaded applications like City ID, Skype,® My Verizon,and Corporate Directory.
  • Updated Backup Assistant application.
  • Enhanced ability to pair Ally with multiple Bluetooth® devices.
  • Improved camera performance.
  • Overall enhancement for Microsoft® Exchange email accounts.
  • Improved device detection when syncing Ally to a PC via USB cable.
  • Operate the Gallery application with improved speed and efficiency.
  • Improved Android¿ operating system security.
  • Enhanced battery life.
  • Improved application responsiveness when opening from home screen.

While this update beat all of the other devices to the punch by starting to receive this update last Friday September 17th, the roll out will continue for the coming weks until all devices have been successfully updated. You can manually check for an update my going into Menu>Settings>About phone>System updates if you haven’t already been prompted for an updated.
