Logitech Revue stock finally depleted, better get one now if you want One

When Logitech signed up with Google to be a launch partner for Google TV, they had high hopes that sales would sky-rocket. Sadly that wasn’t the case. Sales started out descent, but soon tailed off to almost nonexistent. The Revue and Google TV was not what the consumers had pictured it would be. I think the seemingly over priced device coupled with its limitations at the time is what really put the nail in the coffin. Logitech moved the price tag down drastically, $99, in an attempt to clear out stock and recoup some losses. Seems the moved helped after all. Logitech is now reporting that their stock of Revue units is now gone. To me that means what ever is left on the store shelves right now is all that remains.

From a users perspective I was very pleased with Revue. Sure it could have done more for the price they were asking for it. Now that it finally has Honeycomb I feel like the experience has expanded. It is almost like a whole new device. Since I am not an overly needy individual my primary use is Netflix, Plex, and Logitech Media player. Which all work well in my opinion. I don’t have cable and don’t intend to ever pay for cable again. I don’t even use it for YouTube or the web at all. I guess I am not big on using my TV as a PC when I have a laptop and desktop close at hand.

We say farewell to you Revue and thanks for giving it a shot. The second generation of Google TV devices are already shaping up to be everything the Revue was not. Be on the look out for some high-powered units soon, along with another high price tag.
