Motorola Droid 2 In 24 Different Pieces

The Motorola Droid 2 dropped yesterday, and while some of you can’t wait to use the device, others can’t wait to tear it down. These images come from ifixit and don’t worry, we think they put this device back together. Though they offer some informative details discovered by the teardown process, we can’t help to ask why they would do such a thing. What details do you ask?

  • The Motorola Droid 2 features the exact same TFT LCD display as the original droid.
  • The 3.7v 1390 mAh battery found in the Droid 2 is the same battery.
  • With some work, the new keyboard featured on the Droid 2 will fit perfectly on the original Droid.

For those of you who saw these pictures, dropped to your knees and cried “Why?!” to the heavens, there is a method to ifixit’s madness here. Surely they just aren’t going to leave the Droid 2 in this condition. Right?
