Quick Look at CyanogenMod 7

One of the most widely used custom Android OS’s is CyanogenMod. Built straight from the Android source, it is one of the most stable, performance-packed aftermarket firmware available. Community driven and developed, Cyanogenmod has been around for a while and has proven itself time and time again. This custom built OS variation is on more than nine devices and the list keeps growing.

Cyanogenmod is currently using the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) source and has many new features in its latest release. Check out some of the highlighted features below.

I currently own a myTouch 4G and use Cyanogenmod on a daily basis and couldn’t be happier. The development for this device is constantly ongoing and offers great community support. Some of the strong key points for me with Cyanogenmod are battery life, speed, and stability. Given that I think Sense is too bloated, this custom aftermarket firmware works great for me.

I would recommend if you are into development and customizing your device that you give this a try, you won’t be disappointed.  I hope this article gave you some insight on what Cyanogenmod is, as well what features it can offer to your current device.
