Rock On with the Lollapalooza App

As any music fan will tell you, this weekend in Chicago the massive music festival known as Lollapalooza will be going on. More than just a concert, Lollapalooza has a history of being part of new musical sounds as well as providing outlets for less mainstream artists of all kinds:

Lollapalooza, an annual music festival featuring alternative rock, hip hop, and punk rock bands, dance and comedy performances, and craft booths. It has also provided a platform for non-profit and political groups. Lollapalooza has featured a diverse range of bands and has helped expose and popularize alternative rock groups such as Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Hole.

Just in time to get your concert planning started, Seed Labs has launched the official Lollapalooza app for Android devices. More than just a map and line-up schedule, the Lollapalooza app packs everything but the kitchen sink into your Android so you can have the best experience possible:

  • Lineup and Custom Schedule: Add filters by day and/or stage. Search by name in any view. Add or remove artists to your custom schedule with one touch.
  • Artist Info: Click on any artist name in the Lineup pages to see a full bio and links. Track set lists using the notes feature.
  • Map: Zoomable/scrollable.
  • News: News and Twitter feeds.
  • Post Photos to Facebook: Choose photos from your phone within the app, and upload directly to Facebook.
  • Post Messages to Facebook or Twitter: Post updates to Facebook or Twitter from within the app.
  • My Friends: Lets you stay connected with your buddies at Lollapalooza. See messages from all of your selected friends in one place with the Friend Wall. Organize a meeting point using your phone’s GPS – just plant a flag on the Map.
  • Lighter: You know…for the ballads.
