Samsung Galaxy S Overclocked to 1.6GHz with 3 Forms of Proof

As many of us are aware with the recent hoax of devices being overclocked to 2GHz, it looks like this is the real deal. Team Whiskey has successfully overclocked the Galaxy S to 1.6GHz and they’ve provided 3 forms of documentation. The first image really holds no bearing thanks to those “integrity violators,” but as you you can see the device is set at 1600MHz.

The next image on deck is a screenie of the device’s Quadrant score which top out at a blazin’ 3083. This number is full of win.

For those of you wanting some Linpack results, check out the image below. The Galaxy S pushed to this 1.6GHz throws up the number to 12.31 which is substantially higher than that of a stock Samsung Vibrant.

Team Whiskey has been working hard on this achievement overclocking the processor and they didn’t just stop with the CPU as they have dialed up the GPU to the max as well and have unlocked the FPS which now shows this device running an astonishing 74.9 frames per second.

This won’t be the last we hear from Team Whiskey as they are currently working on more enhancements to the kernel. Be sure to head over to XDA to get “in the know” about modding your Galaxy S device to achieve these fast speeds. Below is the OpenGL Benchmark Top 100 and as you can see the Galaxy S is blowing the rest out of the water.

The guys behind Team Whiskey include the following, so be sure to tip them well.
