Smurfs’ Village headed to Android later this Week

I am easily the biggest kid at heart. I sit and watch cartoons with my kids nearly everyday, and not the crappy cartoons of today, but the good ones we all grew up with. Ones like Voltron, Rescue Rangers, Duck Tales and yes, the Smurfs. Every time I watch the Smurfs I think of 2 things. If you choke a Smurf what color do they turn and where did all the Smurfs come from when Smurfette is the only female in the village.

Seriously though, Beeline interactive will be launching a game called Smurfs’ Village to our beloved Android devices on September 28. Early birthday present for me! The game is based on the 80’s cartoon and comic art, not the 2011 movie. You begin your village quest under the guidance of Papa Smurf. Starting with only one house and one plot of plowed land for farming. As the story progresses you will meet up with old-time favorite characters like Smurfette, Jokey Smurf and others that will bring unique skills to the village. This isn’t going to be your typical farming style game though. You will have mini games to play, build paths, bridges over streams and build your Smurf Village to the glory that it should be.

There was no mention of Gargamel or Azrael in the press release though. They may still make an appearance in the game and I sure hope they do. It wouldn’t be the Smurfs without them.
