Streak Not Compatible With T-Mobile 3G Bands, Will See Some Froyo Love By Year’s End

With the Dell Streak set to hit the U.S. market very soon, questions concerning network compatibility, firmware upgrades, and colors are a hot topic according to feedback received by Dell, which takes some time to go over things with us and helps ease the tension. The Dell Streak is set to launch on AT&T very soon and customers were curious to know if the device would be capable with T-Mobile. The good news, if you live in an area where EDGE is still rockin’, you can enjoy the Dell Streak as this device does not support T-Mobile’s 3G bands. I guess there is a benefit to having the EDGE network. The next thing discussed was when the Dell Streak would be getting a firmware upgrade. As we know, the device ships with Android 1.6, but is said it will receive an upgrade to Android 2.2 before the end of 2010. The device in the video is running Android 2.1 Eclair, which shows us that 2.1 is possible at least. Lastly, people were concerned about color option availability regarding the Dell Streak. The Dell Streak that is currently available, will be launching with the carbon color, which will be followed by the cherry red in the near future. To watch the Dell Streak in action, take a gander below.
