Xiaomi had revelead few days back that it will be announcing its drone. A few teasers were posted on China’s social networking website Weibo. Now, Xiaomi has finally announced its Mi drone. It is made by Mi Ecosystem’s company Flymi, and the CEO of the company is Cai Wei who has 7 years of experience dealing with drones.
The Drone has a compact light-weight body as it is made from carbon fiber. It has a 12-megapixel Sony BSI sensor with 6P lens, three-axis image stabilization, 1080/4K video recording at 30 fps, and RAW image capture capability.
It comes with a remote control, which looks like an ordinary Mi Bluetooth controller but it’s not. Taking photos, videos, auto take off/landing, auto hover, point flying, flying router planning flying are controlled via this controller.Â

It has a 5,100 mAh battery from LG or Grepow, and it can fly continuously up to 27 minutes. It can fit in a small bag since the camera and landing gear as well as the blades can be removed easily. The Xiaomi Mi Drone is priced at CNY 2,499 (US$ 380) for the 1080p model, which will be available for order through crowdfunding from May 26th. The 4K model is priced at 2999 Yuan (US$ 457) and will be available through crowdfunding by the end of July.
