It was only a matter of time before Yahoo was going to break into the voice assistant game. With Apple’s Siri, and Google’s Google Now, Yahoo needed something to level up with. Well a new video of what seems to be a Yahoo voice assistant app being demonstrated surfaced this morning, but now we are getting word that it might not be real.
Yahoo acquired SkyPhrase, which was a natural language startup not too long ago. So it was obvious that they were planning on creating a voice assistant app for people to utilize, but no one really knew the status on that. The video below shows off this supposed Yahoo voice app, but after further investigation from sites like TechCrunch, it seems that the video is false. TechCrunch apparently has a source from Yahoo, and they are stating that this is not a Yahoo product.
So at this point, no one really knows what to make of the video. It looks like a pretty decent voice assistant app, and Yahoo is most likely in the process of developing it. Once we find out more about it we will let you know.
