SanDisk was the first, that I know of, that offered a 128GB micro SD card and that was just about a year ago in February of 2014. They came out swinging with a $199.99 price tag, but it wasn’t long before the price tags started to drop. Eventually they started hovering around the $100 mark with a few fluctuation here and there. Right now the SanDisk Ultra 128GB card is sitting at $99.99, which is sill a pretty good price for that much storage. If you want to save a little bit more money from another trusted brand name, then you will be happy to know that the PNY 128GB UHS-1 Class 10 micro SD card is currently listed for $79.99 via Amazon.
The PNY version of this card lists out speeds at 40MBs, but it is very possible that it does clock in differently for different people. It is also magnet proof, shock proof, temperature proof and water proof. I don’t recommend a dip in the ocean with it or flying it on a kite in a lightning storm though. Don’t think you don’t have a use for one either. Just because your current phone might not have a micro SD card slot, your tablet, Go Pro, Action Camera, digital camera or other device can easily use this as well, in most cases. Plus PNY includes the usual full size SDÂ card adapter too.
If you find the price a bit steep, or just don’t see a real world application for so much storage, you can always bring it down a bit and grab the 64GB variant of the card for a smaller price tag of $29.99. Below are the links to go grab them, I also tossed in the SanDisk cards too, just for good measure. (link price shows different then Amazon does)
