With all the pretty, leaked renders of the Nexus 5 and talks of its impending announcement, it’s almost as if we’ve completely forgotten that Google has a second device that is likely to launch this year as well. That device, of course, is the 2013 Nexus 10Â tablet, which is tipped to have been manufactured by ASUS. Lucky for us then that some clever tipsters were constantly watching the Google Play Store long enough to see what appears to be the page meant for the new Nexus 10. The page went offline as soon as it had come online, but not before the press render was saved (as seen above) and the specifications were gleaned from it too.
The leaked spec sheet says that the 2013 Nexus 10 will have a Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB RAM, a 2560×1600 resolution 10.055-inch display, and an upgraded battery that will carry 9,500mAh of charge, all of which are specifications that we’ve heard for the Nexus 10 before. The render that has been leaked also shows the Nexus 10 rocking Android 4.4 Kit Kat, evidenced by the transparent bars. And there’s one thing that rings true, with me at least, and that is that the wallpaper depicts the number “10” in a rather abstract manner (albeit sideways), but one that matches the same abstract theme of the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (which depict the numbers “5” and “7” respectively.
However, as always, it’s important to remember that all leaks must be observed with caution, and the fact that the leak also featured the Google Play Devices page showing both the Nexus 5 and the new Nexus 10 seems almost too coincidental, but here’s to hoping. Think this is a genuine leak? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
UPDATED: PhoneArena has re-assessed the leak, and has decided that it is most likely false due to the integrity of the tipster. And so we wait, again…
