2 million LG Optimus Ones Sold

Just 40 days after the launch of the LG Optimus One, LG is reporting over 2 million units sold. That is a pretty impressive feat. LG took the same approach as Samsung did and has successfully launched this device across multiple carriers and countries. If other manufacturers move to this type of business plan, we just might start to see more devices going global instead of stranded on a single network.

I for one applaud LG for this tactic. However,  if these guys plan to continue this kind of strategy they better have all the plans in place for software updates as well. LG did announce that Gingerbread would function well on this line of devices, but if they don’t deliver, we will be adding them to the millions of  disgruntled Samsung Galaxy S owners. Only time will tell if these manufacturers can keep up product demands and software releases.
