44 Verizon LTE markets getting enhanced, 27 more markets activating on April 19th

Verizon is on a mission to dominate the LTE airwaves this year. Seems like every time I turn around they are turning LTE on in another group of markets, enhancing other locations and making that big map a little redder. Verizon just released information on another group of locations scheduled to get a treat this Thursday, April 19th. Check it out and see if you can expect to see any improvements in your area.

Just activated:

  • Marion Indiana

Additions:

  • Ocala, Florida
  • Brunswick, Georgia
  • LaGrange, Georgia
  • Macon, Georgia
  • Pierre, South Dakota
  • Cattaraugus-Allegany Counties, New York
  • Dodge City, Kansas
  • 25 small towns in Middle Tennessee

Expansions:

Enhancements:

  • Buffalo, New York - 28 new 4G LTE cell sites recently activated

Anyone?? Be sure to hit up the Verizon link below, the list above is only a fraction of the areas that will be getting some new LTE services. The individual press releases are a serious pain in the neck guys. The network is expanding in 44 markets total with 27 new markets gaining it for the first time. Once the roll out is complete,  “The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network will be available to two-thirds of the U.S. population in a total of 230 markets.” That is a pretty impressive number, especially considering some carriers are just about to start turning on LTE in coming months.
