The Sony Togari is supposedly confirmed with a 6.44-inch HD display. No mention of PPI, but Sony screens and their Bravia engine do make some crystal clear screens. We have to assume that it will be 1080p as well if they plan to make it a competitor to the Note III. The Togari will have its own stylus of course.
Both sites claim a device launch is tentatively scheduled for some time this summer. Most likely some time after the expected showing of it in Berlin at the annual IFA conference at the end of August. They would need to get it out as close to the launch of the Galaxy Note III as possibly to have any sort of chance. The Note III has been speculated for a July or August release.
Beyond screen size though, the rumored internal specs have been all over the place. Some say Snapdragon 600, others say Snapdragon 800. RAM has been hinted at as 2GB or 3GB. Rumors are always fun to look at, but until it actual fact, we don’t get our hopes up to much. Everyone does seem to be in agreement that it will have an IR blaster though. I think we will start seeing a plethora of high-end devices with those the rest of the year and next year. Especially since many of the big name phone manufacturers also make high-end TV’s.
In the end though, it comes down to a few things for me. Obviously the screen size is HUGE. More importantly though, the fact that it probably won’t make it state side without having to be purchased unlocked overseas. What do you guys think? Is 6.44 just too much for a phone in your pocket?
