A.I. Type Keyboard shows off new ‘Floating Split Keyboard’ for Tablets

In the world of Android we are very familiar with a multitude of onscreen keyboard alternatives. We have shown you many of them from FlexT9, ICS, Swype and even A.I. Type. All offer various attributes and customization. They also all offer variances in their predictive text engines that work well for some people but not others. One area that I have personally felt needed some work in the keyboard world was on tablets. Being that the screen is so large, it is almost impossible to type up a reply to anything without setting your tablet down on your lap or a table.

Enter A.I.Type Keyboards latest project, the Floating Keyboard. Designed specifically for tablets, this new addition to their line up will offer you a ton of new functionality. Giving you a split keyboard on either side of the screen that lays over the top of the app you are currently inside of. What makes it even more unique is the ability to re-size the keyboard and place it anywhere on your screen. All this with some intuitive drag and drop abilities that are sure to please the public.

It does look to be rather interesting. The keyboard is currently in a closed beta state and should be landing in the market fairly soon. Bringing along with it 30 supported languages, custom skins and their context-aware auto-correction.

What do you guys think? Is this exactly what you have been waiting for to make your tablet experience just that much better? We think it should make life a little better in the long run once you get used to the idea.
