AllCast has had its ups and downs for the last couple of months. The developer, Koushik Dutta, has been hard at work to make the app work with various connected TV’s and devices. The app is designed to help you cast “ALL” things from your Android device to your Roku, Apple TV, Google TV or other connected devices capable of receiving the video or photo. (Music support coming soon)
It still doesn’t have Chromecast support though. Koushik had it working at one point, but Google was quick to push out an update to the Chromecast that blocked it. Until Google allows the app to make the connection, you won’t be able to use it with your little $35 stick. However, we are sure many of you have an Xbox 360, Xbox One, Roku, Google TV set-top box, Apple TV or one of the other supported connected TV’s.
Feel free to go pick it up and give it a whirl. Let’s hope Google gets in gear and allows AllCast to take part in the Chromecast experience soon. I would definitely be more apt to spend $4.99 with ClockworkMod then some of the other guys out there that are approved right now.
