Amazon announces ‘Amazon Game Studios’, first game released, not for Kindle Fire Though

Well look what we have here. Amazon is entering a whole new arena with their own game studio. While the first game, which was just released today, is not for Android, it is easily a sign of what is to come. Their main focus is bringing innovative, fun and well crafted games to social gaming players. The first title is released is a new Facebook game called Living Classics. It is a clever little cartoon style hidden object game. It looks pretty good actually.

The point is not so much that there is a new Facebook game for you to go get addicted too, or irritated at, the point is Amazon now has a game studio. With the Kindle Fire being a big-ticket item for the company and rumors of an official Amazon phone coming somewhere down the line, we are expecting to see the studio pick up pace and start making mobile games soon. Creating a whole new social aspect for Amazon along with games created and built just for their products. There is a lot of money to be had in the gaming sphere, with resources and drive, Amazon is positioning themselves to be a one stop shop for all your daily needs. All of this is rather new and could take some time before we see it happen. We can easily see Amazon porting or creating a version of Living Classics that will be a Kindle Fire edition soon.

Will Amazon Game Studios bring insane games to their devices? Probably not. We do however see this as another way Amazon can leverage its tablet to bring cross-platform social gaming to life while keeping it in-house and device specific.

P.S. They are hiring if you are looking for a job and have the talents.
