Amazon intros new Unlimited Cloud Storage plans, one for photos and one for everything else

Cloud storage is becoming more and more necessary as we move forward in technology. More and more manufacturers have been forgoing the traditional micro SD card slots and sticking with built-in storage options coupled with OEM clouds, personal clouds (Samsung Link) and third-party clouds like Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, Mega and MediaFire. For many users, that is fine. For others, it creates a new problem that begs for solutions. Amazon is stepping in with a new set of cloud storage plans that might force your hand on their services.

Today Amazon has announced two new cloud storage plans aimed at the users the need for a ton of storage. Rather then a set GB or TB limit, they are offering up unlimited storage solutions. The first being an Unlimited Photo plan. This plan is geared more towards the photography junkies out there who take a lot of images. You get 3-months free to try it out and then will shell out $11.99 a year. Basically that equates to just about $1 a month. That is EXTREMELY affordable. Along with unlimited cloud storage for your photos, this plan also gives you 5GB of additional space for videos, documents or other files.

The second plan is Unlimited Everything option. No caps, no limits, no nothing. Unlimited storage for all your photos, videos, documents, movies, music and anything else you need to upload. Again, Amazon is offering up 3-months of the unlimited everything plan followed by a price tag of $59.99 a year. Again, that translates to a low $5 a month.

“Most people have a lifetime of birthdays, vacations, holidays, and everyday moments stored across numerous devices. And, they don’t know how many gigabytes of storage they need to back all of them up,” said Josh Petersen, Director of Amazon Cloud Drive. “With the two new plans we are introducing today, customers don’t need to worry about storage space—they now have an affordable, secure solution to store unlimited amounts of photos, videos, movies, music, and files in one convenient place.”

If you are already a Prime Member or own a Fire device, you can swap your current , and already free, unlimited photo storage account over to the unlimited everything account at will. Same goes for any existing Cloud Drive users, just switch to one of the new offerings.
