Amazon’s Indie Games Store launched today, a section within the Digital Video Games Store. The new category will give indie developers a more recognizable outlet for their PC, Mac and browser-based games.
Featured games in the store include the Pong-style music game Bit.Trip, medieval adventure game Castle Crashers and pixelated platformer Mutant Mudds.
Amazon will be offering deals and features to promote the release of the Indie Games Store.
- Indie Spotlight– A featured section with developer bios and Q&A.
- Indie Bundles– Starting today until July 23rd, bundles of 5, 6 or 10 games each will cost $9.99.
- Gift with Purchase– Starting today until July 17th, purchases from the Indie Games Store come with codes for 3 pre-selected titles for free, with games changing daily.
- Indie Gamer’s Choice-Â Gamers vote on two indie-games, with the winner being featured as the Indie Gamer’s Choice.
