The more the merrier! A group text is a conversation among three or more people. To start one, just invite friends into your conversation. Add friends to a group text easily, and at any time. Your friends can participate in group texting conversations on any mobile device, and they don’t need to have textPlus Gold.

Once an invite into a chat room is accepted (via text, of course), all participants will see every response; for friends without the app, however, standard texting charges will apply. With group text capabilities, staying connected and keeping your clique tight is just made easier.

Communities of Liberated Texters

Free texting means an abundance of texting, so connect with new people with similar interests and spark up a conversation. A Community is a chat room for like-minded texters. Tap the Communities tab to search for existing communities, or just create your own. Form a private community and invite just your friends or create a public one and welcome fellow texters from all over the world.

Integrating textPlus Gold into Your Texting Routine

Enable the alert feature from within the app for instant text notifications. This allows you to receive notifications and pop-up windows outside of the app, ensuring that you won’t miss a message. If you choose, you may set textPlus Gold as the default texting app. When you receive a notification, your phone will automatically take you to the textPlus app rather than your standard messaging program.

Please note that textPlus Gold does not replace texting capabilities using your regular phone number. You can still text using that number; however, standard texting charges will apply according to your carrier’s texting plan.

Services That Cost You Money

When using your native SMS inbox from within the app, you will be charged according to your regular SMS plan. For free an unlimited texts, use only textPlus and not the native SMS inbox. TextPlus traffic also uses data which may result in carrier charges if you are not on an unlimited data plan.

Your Messages

textPlus has integrated support for SMS Messages and the ability to integrate your native inbox SMS messages into the textPlus app to make it more convenient to access both native message inbox and textPlus.

Network Communication

All textPlus API are through the web, which requires internet. This is also required by C2DM (Android Push) as well.

Your Accounts

textPlus conveniently pre-populates your e-mail address. Account information is also necessary for Android (C2DM) to push notifications.

Storage

textPlus has a local SQLite database and caches images for better UX. The app uses the device’s local storage to cache images, which in turn speeds up the performance of the app.

Phone Calls

textPlus allows users to conveniently start a phone call directly from a phone number link within an SMS message.

System Tools

textPlus allows the user to set textPlus as their preferred text application.
