Android 4.0.4 arrives in Canada on Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus Devices

Last week we alerted the U.S. users of the Nexus S and the Galaxy Nexus (GSM) that an update to Android 4.0.4 was getting underway. At the same time, users of the Wi-Fi only Motorola XOOM were also on the list to be getting an update. Now there are reports coming in from Canadian users of those devices also getting the update. Gagetorama doesn’t mention the carrier that is involved currently, but we assume that you should be good on any network in the norther country. Some of you might be lucky enough to already have the latest Android update installed, good for you. Everyone else, you can check for it through the device settings. Sometimes that won’t push an update through though. That’s when you dig in and see if you can force it through. To give that a shot you will want to open you phone app and dial *#*#2432546#*#* after the last star is entered the number will disappear from your screen. It will hopefully ping the server for you and prompt for a download.

They seem to have had luck with the Nexus S but no luck on the Galaxy Nexus. Patience is a virtue people, just know that it is out there somewhere in digital update land. Hopefully you all get it downloaded and installed soon.
