The
Google Developers have just release two new Android 4.0.4 factory images for the
Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The images are available for you to download freely and at your discretion., but there are a couple of things to know. There is aÂ
yakju version which is for the GSM unlocked versions that are already out and about in the community. There is also a new addition, the
 takju build. This is for the latest release of the Gnex from
Google through the Play Store. They are mostly similar with the exception of Google Wallet being included in the Google direct version. According to
AndroidCentral, the Google wallet version seems to flash just fine to all unlocked Galaxy Nexus’s.
The factory images are a handy little get out of jail free card. Their main purpose is to be able to flash your device back to stack easily and safely if you managed to mess something up. While not to many average users will find the factory image all that useful, many developers and ROM flashing aholics will find them to be a saving grace.
