Android 4.4.1 To Hit Soon? Google Testing Activity On The Build Increases

android 4.4.1We’ve known for some time now that Google intends to bring out an incremental Android software update, expected to be Android 4.4.1. What it addresses exactly is still a mystery, however we know it will probably address some issues with the transparent soft keys on Nexus devices. The update hasn’t had a date set for it yet, but according to 9to5 Google, there has been an increase in Android 4.4.1 activity in Google’s natural habitat of Santa Clara which suggests that testing of the new update is fully underway.

Known devices that will be getting the update are naturally Nexus devices; 9to5Google noticed that the Nexus 4, 5, and 7 were among the devices being tested, and the Nexus 10 has been known to be getting the update for some time now. Prominent HTC dev LlabTooFeR also posted the following tweet which suggests that Android 4.4.1 will also reach the Google Play Edition devices soon too:

What do you think the new update will contain? We wouldn’t be surprised to see the update address some of the security issues that have been popping up in Android 4.4, but let us know what you think in the comments below.
