Android 5.0 Lollipop coming for the Verizon Galaxy Note 4

Well hello there Lollipop. Verizon hasn’t always had a very stellar track record when it comes to updating devices to the latest Android OS variant on devices. Often time they are way past fashionably late to the party. However, that isn’t the case with the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Documents went up on the Verizon support page for the device full of images and information as to what users can expect when the update hits devices across the country. The update will move the Note 4 to build number VRU1BOAF.

The update will bring a more Material Design looking TouchWiz UI to your screen, lockscreen notifications and all the other little nuances of Lollipop that you have been eagerly waiting for. It will also bring along Verizon’s big push into the Voice over LTE, or VoLTE, with Advanced Calling 1.0.

Be on the lookout for the update as it should start hitting devices anytime now. Make sure you have a solid Wi-Fi connection, well over 50% battery life and some time to kill for it to download and install. It will come in two waves, according to the update instructions page. With the updates taking between 42 and 60 minutes to complete. You will need at least 1.7GB of space available to start the update. If you are running low, you might want to start clearing out some things now.  Head to Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for updates the Download Now if you see it available.
