A few weeks ago, we got a sneak peek at Android 5.0 Lollipop for the LG G2 and now it appears the software update is now officially rolling out in South Korea. Prior to this, the update was in testing, which is presumably where the leaked footage came from, but the V30D update has been confirmed to be coming to units on the SK Telecom and LG U+ networks right now. We’re assuming that once the roll-out is complete in Korea, the Lollipop update will start coming to other regions, though it may depend on your carrier when you actually get the update.
From the leaked footage we saw a few weeks ago, the Lollipop update for the LG G2 looks incredibly similar to the update to the LG G3 – unsurprising since the devices are actually quite close in hardware specifications. We’ll have to wait until it’s actually in people’s hands before we can judge what the update is really like, but it’s hard to complain with the silky smooth new Lollipop UI.
