We’ve heard precious little about Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Samsung Galaxy S4 GPe and while some of its Google Play edition brethren, like the Moto G, HTC One M8 and HTC One M7, have received the update already, we haven’t heard so much as a peep about the Galaxy S4 GPe. Well, wonder no longer as the update is reported to be rolling out already, pushing Android 5.0 to the stock Android Samsung device. You’ll notice that we said “Android 5.0” and we specifically mention this because the OTA is for Android 5.0, not Android 5.0.1, which was recently pushed out and is already on the other Google Play edition devices. There doesn’t appear to be a reason why this discrepancy exists, or whether the software will be updated again in the near future.
Despite this, we’re sure the update will be a welcome site for Galaxy S4 GPe owners as they can join the early adopters of the new standard in Android operating systems, though it isn’t without its issues. Let us know in the comments below if you have received the update – we’d love to hear what you think about it.
