Marshall Major Pitch black

Marshall is one of the biggest household names when it comes to amplifiers and when I found out that they were about to release a pair of headphones to work with our mobile devices, I was very excited.  Marshall Amplifiers are used by most of the major bands and have been for many, many years so they certainly know how to create awesome sounding equipment.

IT ALSO FEATURES A ROADWORTHY DENIM HEADBAND INSPIRED BY THE UNIFORM OF CHOICE FOR THOSE WHO MAKE THE ROAD THEIR CALLING. JUST LIKE THE STANDARD MAJOR MODEL, PITCH BLACK EMBODIES VAST AMOUNTS OF THE MASSIVE MARSHALL LEGACY. IT IS A SOLID WORKHORSE WITH GREAT STAMINA, DESIGNED WITH NON-STOP ALL DAY LISTENING IN MIND. As the quote states, The Marshall Major Pitch Black headphones are completely black, almost.  High quality metal construction can be found on the inside, but the headband itself is made from denim.  Yes, you heard me right, the cover over the band that sits above your head is made from an almost black denim material and it looks and feels great.

The Packaging

The headphones arrived in a cardboard box with a lift off top section.  Nothing too special, but nicely enough presented. when it comes to packaging, there really isn’t too much you can do.  As long as the product inside is protected, I’m happy.  Unless its something very special, you’re just going to trash it anyway.  All we really care about is whats on the inside.

The Contents

The contents on the inside of the box are fairly minimal.  Marshall decided not to start adding lots of accessories like bags and holder for carrying your new shiny headphones and instead focused on the sound they produce.  There is a full size connector adapter so you can use your headphones in your amplifiers and hoe stereo equipment and they also threw In a 90 degree connector if you’d rather connect sideways along your device instead of sticking straight out.

These headphones are a mixture of parts that as a whole makes for a great set of headphones. With the near-black denim material wrapped around the headband, and the black metal bars holding the ear pieces which are made from a soft-touch matte black plastic.  The back of the earpiece has the signature Marshall logo just so you know who made them.

Almost everything is matte black and the overall effect is very nice.

The Sounds

It’s incredibly hard to compare so many headphones in one go.  Swapping and changing all the time and trying to analyze the difference between each one.  I’ve been using the Marshall Majors for a couple of week now and the sound suites me to a T.  I love them.

Marshall have created the perfect balance for me.  The sound is rich and full and the highs are clear and life like.  There isn’t too much bass to overwhelm everything else.  They just sound right.

Everybody has their own preference in sound and everybody’s ears are different so what is great for me may not be as great for you.  Some people like to get blood flowing from their eardrums by pounding down some seriously loud and low bass and other people prefer to hear the crisp acoustics, but everybody has their own idea of how sound should sound.

From all the headphones I’ve tried so far, the Marshall’s are my absolute favorite sound.

The Fit

Comfortable and unnoticeable is how I’d describe the Marshall Major Pitch Blacks. The padding around the earpieces is soft and the spring loaded band that fits nicely over your head is not too strong that it makes your ears uncomfortable and not too light that they feel like they might fall off your head.  They seem to just fit well and still feel good after a couple of hours on your head.

The Function

What more can I say.  These excellent set of headphones perform exactly as specified and offer one of the most complete headphone experiences I’ve ever had the pleasure of entertaining.  The inline MIC, which I hadn’t mentioned previously, works great and allows you to easily answer phone calls while your listening to music or watching movies.  Everyone I spoke to said that I sounded perfectly clear.

Conclusion
