Android Market just extended it’s global reach with added support for buying and selling in more than 30 countries! Effective today, developers from 20 countries can now sell paid apps on the Android Market! This brings the total number of countries with paid apps support to 29.
The newest countries to join the paid apps ecosystem are:
Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland and Taiwan.
In addition to this, 18 more countries are expected to be able to purchase paid apps from the Market over the next couple of weeks – a total of 32 countries will be able to buy apps.
The new countries to be granted purchase access are:
Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Israel, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, and Taiwan.
This is definitely good news for developers, users and Google. Developers in those countries now have the opportunity to cash in on their hard work. Google’s move to expand the customer base is a good step towards making the Android Marketplace competitive and attractive for developers. More buying, more selling and more apps will improve the Android ecosystem. Google for the win!
