This really is amazing news, and a testament to just how popular Android has become. In September 2009, the Android Market had only 10,000 apps. Now, just 10 months later the Market has over 90,000 apps and is on track to surpass 100,000 before the month is over. If Android Market continues to grow at its current pace, we could very well see it catching up to the iTunes market within a year.
Also interesting to note is just how many new apps are being added every month, and it’s another staggering number. Every day, I scour the market looking for new and interesting or useful apps to share with you in the weekly round-up. With tens of thousands of apps being added, I’m only sharing a tiny fraction. Hopefully, when Android updates their online market we’ll be able to search out the newest apps much more easily.
