Anker 2-port Turbo Car Charger, Lighting charging for all your Devices [Review]

Anker makes more than just portable battery packs. Along side their recently released Anker Astro Slim2 battery pack, they also just release a new dual-port USB car charger. Boy is she a beaut.

You can only design the look of a car charger in so many ways. It plugs into your cigarette lighter and has ports on it. We have a seen a variety of car chargers that have dedicated cords and a second port, some that split off in a V fashion and many that just offer two ports. Two ports on a car charger is becoming increasingly desired for families and people who car pool. Those long drives and commutes often have more than one person in the vehicle who need a boost.

What makes this car charger any different from other ones on the market? The design is nice, as you can see, it is white with a light gray accent. It fits a cigarette lighter and offers 2 ports for dual charging. Where it differs from other is the internal components. The top port is dedicated to Android users, where as the bottom port is dedicated to Apple users. There is a difference, but both will charge your devices. The Android port is wired to deliver 5 volts at 1.5 amps. That is the standard optimal charging power for most Android devices. The Apple side is 5 volts at 2.1 amps. Which would also help charge up those monster devices like the Note II quicker and more efficiently while on the road.

Over all the Anker 2-port Turbo Car Charger is 18 watts at 3.6 amps. That is a hefty bit of power pushing for a car charger.

What is even more impressive in my eyes, is how little one of these car chargers will set you back. They are currently going for a meager $11.99 on Amazon. I know I have spent upwards of $20 for dual port chargers in the past, most of them couldn’t quickly charge up a tablet and a phone in a short amount of travel time.

Normally I add section about what we liked and didn’t like about a product. It seems a little silly to waste any more of your time reading. It is a car charger, it plugs in, it charges your devices at full speed for faster charging while in the car. As fast you upgrade and change devices, having one charger that will charge them all is pretty nice.It looks just fine and just works.
